Tujuan:
Setelah menempuh matakuliah ini mahasiswa akan dapat menjelaskan konsep-konsep optika kuantum dan dapat mengaplikasikannya untuk menyelesaikan persoalan-persoalan fisika.
Sinopsis
Pendahuluan: Review of Quantum Mechanics, Two-level systems, Three pictures. Second quantization of electromagnetic field. Density matrix and master equation formulation. Nonclassical properties of light: Fock state, Coherent and Squeezed state, thermal state. Atom-field interaction: Jaynes-Cummings model, Spontaneous emission. Propagation of light in a resonant medium. Coherence in multi-level systems -- Dressed state, Electromagnetically induced transparency, etc.Term project preview. Other coherent phenomena.Open quantum systems and noise.Laser cooling and trapping. Special topics I -- Cold atom systems, Optical lattices, etc.
